Are You Ready…to Go Back to School?

Perhaps your unhappy with your career or need more of a challenge in your professional life. Or, maybe you’ve always wanted to go college but haven’t had the time. The decision to get your college degree is a tough hurdle to hop over. Are you ready? Is your family ready? What should you study? The questions are endless, but here is a checklist to help you sort out your thoughts and answer the question: am I ready to go back to school?

Why do you want to go back to school

Is it to change careers, earn more money or finally get your degree? Write down your main objective for getting your degree.

What type of degree would you want?

Is there something you’re specifically interested in or do you have inspirations that you need to seek out through classes? Maybe start with a few exploratory classes and look into what you want to do.

Analyze your options; will going back to school be worth the extra time effort?

Be realistic, will you still be able to balance out your schedule? Write down the adjustments you will have to make in order to go back to school, evaluate short-term and long-term goals.

Gather together the people who mean the most to you; friends, family, relatives.
